Odessa Unanimous #1 on Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll
Jacks Keep Hold of Top Spot in the Poll
Keeping their hold on the #1 spot in the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll, the Odessa Jackalopes (35-6-4) earned all 14 first place votes they could receive maintaining their position as the top team in the CHL. Thus far, the Jacks have been the #1 team in the league on each poll. Odessa has a 23 point lead over the new #2 team, the Rapid City Rush (28-10-3), who moves up from the #3 spot. The Jacks have not lost a game in regulation since January 8 and are 10-0-1 since that date.
Once again, the tightest race is between the #2 and #4 seeds with the Rush earning 117 points, the #3 seeded Colorado Eagles (27-9-5) earning 114 points and the #4 seeded Allen Americans (29-10-3) garnering 112 points.
Two new teams moved into the top 10 with the Corpus Christi IceRays (18-19-6) making their first appearance on the poll sitting in the #9 spot and the Tulsa Oilers (20-19-2) moving back into the poll after a brief absence. Dropping out was the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and the Missouri Mavericks.
Bossier-Shreveport and Texas flipped position for the #5 and #6 spots and Mississippi and Laredo flipped the #7 and #8 spots.
The Jacks received all 14 first place votes that were possible to them and the Colorado Eagles earned the other first place nod (teams are unable to vote for themselves).

The CHL Top 10 Coaches Poll will be released on or near the beginning and middle of each month through the regular season. Each first place vote receives ten points, second place votes earn nine points, etc.
