Mississippi’s Bobby Chaumont Wins Weekly Award
RiverKings Sniper’s Hat Trick Voted CHL Performance of the Week
The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Mississippi forward Bobby Chaumont has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for the week of November 16-22 for his hat trick on November 21 in the ‘Kings 6-1 win over the Missouri Mavericks at the DeSoto Civic Center.
The Sudbury, Ontario native scored his first goal of the night just over 90 seconds into the game and then completed the hat trick in short order scoring two goals in a 1:24 stretch of the second period. Chaumont is second on the team with nine goals and has 15 points on the season (9-6=15).
Chaumont received 2,017 votes accounting for 67% of the total 3,031 votes cast. Finishing second in the voting was Wichita’s Mark Adamek (749 votes) who scored two power play goals in a 14 second stretch of the Thunder’s shootout loss to Tulsa on November 21.
The nominees for the CHL Performance of the Week for week seven of the season (the period between November 23-29) are as follows:
-Missouri’s Jeff Christian scoring his 500th professional goal in shootout win at Tulsa on Nov. 26
-Corpus Christi’s Kevin Natsiuk making 29 saves in the IceRays 2-1 win vs. Laredo on Nov. 28
-Colorado scoring a franchise record 10 goals in a 10-4 win vs. Amarillo on Nov. 25
-Odessa’s Joel Martin making 27 saves and stopping all four shooters he faced in the Jacks shootout win over RGV on Nov. 28
-Laredo’s Jeff Bes notching four points (2-2=4) including game winner in Bucks 6-3 win vs. CRP on Nov. 29
Fans can vote for the winner until Monday, December 7 with the winner being announced on Tuesday, December 8.
