Ramsay To Return To Bench
Oilers Coach Signs Two Year Extension
After leading the Tulsa Oilers to their longest playoff run in 17 years, Tulsa Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay has signed a two year contract that will carry him through the end of the 2012-2013 season.
“The enthusiasm we saw in the BOK Center during the playoffs was incredible and is definitely a tribute to Bruce and the team and the job they’ve done,” general manager Taylor Hall said. “Having Bruce here will keep the Oilers moving forward.”
Ramsay led the Oilers to a 35-25-6 record, good for third place in the Central Hockey League’s Berry Conference. The team qualified for the playoffs for the first time in six years and won its first playoff series since 1994. In two years, Ramsay’s regular season record with the Oilers is 63-54-13.
“There’s no question we took some great steps last season and are headed in the right direction,” Ramsay said. “The fans really got back into it, and we’re looking forward to next season.”
