Bees and Oilers Exchange Defensemen

The Tulsa Oilers and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees made a trade today exchanging defensemen with Josh Garbutt heading to the Bees and Adam Blanchette moving north to the Oilers.

Garbutt had been on the Oilers suspended list after a promising start to the season.  In 27 games, he was Tulsa’s highest scoring defensemen with 15 points (4-11=15).

Blanchette was in his second season with the Bees recording three assists and 60 PIM’s in 30 games.

Both the Killer Bees and Oilers are out of the playoff picture at the moment and looking to turn things around in the second half of the season.
